I never really got Passions. It’s a little too out there for me.
Witches, spells, that whole supernatural thing mixed into a soap – it’s just not my thing.
But the offbeat soap does have a following.
Friday marks the end of Passions 8-year run on NBC. But it’s not the end of the soap.
Die-hard fans will be able to pick up right where they left off. The catch is they will have to subscribe to DirectTV to do it.
DirectTV begins airing new episodes of Passions on the 101 Sept. 17.
DirectTV will run each new episode twice a day, Monday-Thursday at 2 and 7 p.m. with a Passions marathon on Saturdays beginning at 10 a.m.
But the question remains – does Passions have a large enough and loyal enough fan base who will pony up the money to subscribe to the satellite TV company?
The buzz in cyberspace is no. Many fans of the show say they just don’t have money in their budget to jump to DirectTV, no matter how loyal they are to the show.
So again I ask you oh loyal Passions fans – what is the appeal of this quirky soap and will you subscribe to satellite to get it? And are there really that many Passions fans out there who care?
