Now today’s General Hospital eppy is more like it!

Have I told you lately how much I LOVE Carolyn Hennesy as Diane?

Carolyn Hennesy

Hennesy is so uber-talented that she delivers 110 percent ev-e-ry sin-gle time she enters a scene.

And paired with Derk Cheetwood as Max Giambetti…..well they make me smile or outright laugh out loud together.

Like today.

When Diane sang “Signed Sealed and Delivered” during Karaoke night at Jakes.

Watch the video. It says it all!

One other bit of good news as far as I’m concerned.

The apparent pairing of Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Mac Scorpio (John J. York).

One of my pet peeves on GH has been the lack of screen time for the handsome Port Chuck police commish. York is SO talented and disgustingly underused.

The only time he gets screen time is when he’s used to prop the Mob storyline.

We need more Mac and he needs a good solid storyline….and I think there’s real possibilities with Alexis.

And as far as Alexis…..when her tween-age daughter (Molly) is telling whoever will listen about the blatantly bad choices in men her mother has made in the past…I think that signals a serious lack of judgement.

Actually, that’s the biggest understatement of the year…..Let’s review her past relationships.

Sonny – mob boss; Rick – pathological liar and sociopath; Jerry – psychopath.

And that’s a sad state of affairs considering Alexis, in her professional life, is a smart, saavy, shark of an attorney in the courtroom. But in her private life……not so much.

So, now, the possibility of an Mac/Alexis pairing gives me hope. They have shown a great chemistry together so far, particularly with their Karaoke duo to “Dancing in the Street.”

Grahn was soooo funny! Like Hennesy, Grahn is another one who puts a smile on my face, when she’s allowed to have some lighter, more comedic moments.

And when she’s paired with Hennesy….the skys the limit in terms of talent with those two.

In my opinion, Max/Diane and Alexis/Mac are more of what we need on GH.

And let’s have less of the Mob Wars and the Lucky/Liz/Nik triangle.

Because Let’s face it. Neither one of those storylines can end well.

  2. Hi Paula,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. ITA about Carolyn. She always brings her A game to the screen no matter what scene she’s in or who she is in a scene with.
Let’s hope TPTB moves more in this direction with more lighthearted and fun moments, rather than more mob violence.

  3. Hi Michele,

I whole heartedly agree with you on Max & Diane. I bow to their greatness as a couple. And Carolyn…well she is just amazing. As far as the mob storylines go I wouldn’t say I hate them because lets face it I remember when Anna was married to Duke and he was head of the mob. So with GH the mob has been around for a long time. But here is my gripe about the mob storyline: its every where all the time. I wouldn’t mind it so much if they did like they did in this episode and balanced it out more. That way the mob storylines would have a chance to become more intriguing instead of boring and been there done that. My only gripe with GH and frankly most soaps is they have a tendency to write as though there viewers are stupid. Which couldn’t be farther from the truth. They also write as though we fans have all the same likes and dislikes outside of the show. Which also couldn’t be further from the truth. Most people when they first meet me find it hard to believe I have been a life long GH fan because of my taste in movies, books, music, and other shows. But here I am a proud memeber of the Addicted to GH club. So I just wish that the writers and producers would realize that we fans are a lot smarter than they give us credit for and therefore they should write the show as such. Thanks for letting me voice my opinion. You have a great site here.

  4. Mendie,
Thanks for your astute post! You make very logical and well-thought out points.
ITA agree about the writers ideas of the fans. The writers def need to up their game a bit.
I also agree about the mob – a little is fine – not having the entire show revolve around it.
Love your site – Addicted to GH – as well! Keep up the good work and stop by here often.
