I am SO mad.
What are the powers that be at General Hospital thinking?
First they kill off Emily Quartermaine (Natalia Livingston).
Kind and caring Emily – the only truly good Quartermaine.
That was last month.
And as we’re still reeling from that….POW!
They sock us with Georgie’s death – strangled by the text-message killer, the latest maniac du jour on a soap marked by constant violence.
Georgie…faithful and trusted friend, loyal little sister, wise Georgie – to coin Spinelli’s descriptions.
And now she’s dead.
Why did they have to kill Georgie, who was so capably and wonderfully played by Lindze Letherman.
Letherman joined the soap in 2002 as a teen.I watched her grow from a schoolgirl into a beautiful young woman right before my eyes.
There are so many other characters on the show who should have been killed off before Georgie – or before Emily, for that matter.
Why is it that GH writers see fit to kill off all the truly good, honest and honorable characters and leave all the liars, cheaters and low-lifes?
It’s not Letheman’s fault that she’s gotten zero in the way of storylines since her romance/marriage ended with Dillon Quartermaine (Scott Clifton).
There was so much potential – not to mention fan anticipation – for a Georgie/Spinelli romance.
There was that wonderful moment on Friday, when Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) came to the realization that Georgie was into him.
Anderson is an amazing talent, who burst onto the GH scene and became an instant favorite, while breathing life into the quirky, seemingly innocent yet wise-beyond-his years, computer genius.
And those coveted, beautiful moments that were shared between Letherman and Anderson are now gone forever.

Spinelli was the one to find the body of his “loyal friend.”
How horrible and tragic to see Georgie’s contorted body lying across the steps with a cord around her neck.
And Anderson really delivered. His performance was so emotional – and terribly heartbreaking.

This sets the stage for the return of Georgie’s prodigal mom, fan fave, Felicia Jones (Kristina Wagner).
But at what price?
Right now, GH is reduced to nothing more than mob wars and psychos running loose.
Violence and murder are commonplace. Honestly, I’m sick of it.
Whatever happened to “Love in the Afternoon?”
I am SO mad.
