The list of the stars appearing at ABC Super Soap Weekend is finally out and the actors that I’m most excited about seeing are from All My Children and General Hospital.
Which in itself is a bit strange because I’m really disenchanted with GH right now and I stopped watching AMC regularly awhile ago.
The stars from my favorite show, One Life To Live, are basically the same ones from the past two years. The list is noticeably missing a majority of veterans. The only longtime vet on the list is Erika Slezak (Viki), whom I met last year and was thrilled about it! I was so excited to meet Erika, because she is One Life To Live.
Noticeably missing: Hillary B. Smith (Nora), Catherine Hickland (Lindsay), Robin Strasser (Dorian), Ilene Kristen (Roxy), Robert S. Woods (Bo), Timothy Stickney (RJ) and Jerry ver Dorn (Clint).
Why weren’t they issued invites?
The C.H.E.R.I. initiative is mounting a letter writing campaign to Disney and SSW sponsor Colgate-Palmolive, trying to get Smith, Strasser, Kristen, and Hickland an invite. They are one determined group.

Also missing from the lineup: Tobias Truvillion (Vincent), Sean Ringgold (Shaun) and David Chisum (Miles). All three are very popular with the fans.

Chisum, relatively new to the Llanview scene, has developed a big fan following. I met him outside the OLTL studio in June while I was vacationing in the Big Apple. He was so personable. Reports from the fan luncheon indicate that fans were clamoring to meet him and that his line for autographs and photos was one of the longest.
I’m really enjoying BethAnn Bonner’s performance as Talia. She is one of those rare, natural actresses. I’ve never met her and would really like to…..But apparently, no invite for her either.
So I ask…..
Why are the majority of OLTL actors from the past two years invited again this year?
The only new addition is Brandon Buddy (Cole) and, for me, I would have preferred some of the above mentioned omissions.
The AMC list includes longtime veterans David Canary (Adam) and Michael E. Knight (Tad), both of whom I would love to meet and hope to have that chance. Thorsten Kaye (Zach) – he’s another one high on my list to possibly meet. I’ve seen him the past two years, but have never met him one-on-one. He is absolutely gorgeous in person and he looks like he really enjoys interacting with the fans.
From General Hospital, Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) tops my list of must meets….yeah, me and some 40,000 others. I think it will be nearly impossible because of his immense popularity.
Others on my GH wish list: Tyler Christopher (Nikolas), Kelly Monaco (Sam), Sonya Eddy (Epiphany) and, of course, Jason Thompson (Patrick). I say, “of course,” because a. he’s my GH fave and b.) I met him last year and he was nicer than I ever expected he could be.

  1. Thanks for the CHERI plug Michele, you are the greatest!
I’ll try to go easier on John (ME) McBain…

  2. Dale,
The CHERI group is very passionate at working towards keeping the vets at the forefront. And let’s face it, it’s these vets who have reeled us in and kept us watching. They’ve endeared us to the soap.
Thanks for posting Dale and we hope you come back!
    Michele
p.s. And thanks for going easy on Johnny Boy.
